Southwest flight averts near disaster when a large hole in the plane's fuselage appears. One flight attendant had minor injuries, but the other 118 passengers were fine.

You see it all of the time in the movies; something goes terribly wrong, there's a huge hole in the plane, and luggage and people start getting sucked out through the hole. In reality, it's more like a strong wind rather than a giant vacuum.

That's what happened abort the 737 that was flight 812. The crew and the pilots kept their cool as they made an emergency landing at the Yuma Marine Corps Air Station - International Airport. According to Reuters, a passenger known as Cindy told the Sacramento CBS TV affiliate that, "There was a hole in the fuselage about three feet long. You could see the insulation and the wiring. You could see a tear the length of one of the ceiling panels."
