Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, is too Busy For 'Make-A-Wish' Child

Make-A-Wish story updated 3-30-2011. Six year old Enzo is heartbroken that the Barefoot Contessa is too busy for him. The Make-a-Wish Foundation asked little Enzo which wish that he'd like fulfilled after he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

While resting in bed, Enzo and his mother would frequently watch the "Barefoot Contessa" show. He wanted to cook with her. Seems like a simple enough request for a suffering, terminally ill child. According to TMZ, even after a year of waiting, Ina's representatives responded with another no answer because of "scheduling conflicts." Enzo has asked his family, "Why doesn’t she want to meet me?"

Ina is on good terms with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and her people say that it is, "absolutely impossible for her to grant every request she receives." How do you explain that to an ill six year old? Enzo's alternate wish is to swim with the dolphins. Let's hope that they aren't too busy to spend time with him.

UPDATE:
Although Ina finally agreed to cook with Enzo, the boy and his family are done with her.

According to TMZ, "Enzo's dad Adrian tells us ... the ship has sailed: 'I don't want to put my son through all these emotions. We're better off just leaving everything the way it is.'"
