The Terminator and John McClane Team Up With Rocky in The Expendables 2 09-07-2011 - by Michelle Lauren, Staff Mumbler Alright they're not in character, but still that title demands attention. The Expendables, if you didn't already know, is one of the most manliest movies ever and it was released just last year. It had an all-star cast of action movie legends. From stars like Sylvester Stallone (who also co-wrote the film) to Jet-Li this film is the epitome of awesome explosion movies.
After people saw that Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis made cameos, they thought an already awesome movie just got better. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted more. If they did their wish was granted.
Schwarzenegger and Willis have closed deals to have "substantial roles" in the sequel according to Deadline. Simon West is also due to continue his role as director, good news as well. When studios shift directors it can go both ways, but mostly ending in disaster.
Take for instance the previous generation of Batman movies. The first two were directed by Tim Burton. The first was substantial while the second... well let's just say it helps if you don't mind dark content. Being a die-hard Burton supporter is also advised for viewing. For the last two films they made directorial shift to Joel Schumacher.
Schumacher has made great films such as Falling Down and St. Elmo's Fire, but the man cannot do Batman to save his life. Well okay that's being unfair. I think the studio had more to do with the debacles that are Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, but I digress. Back to the action.
As for other stars Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and Jet Li are expected to return for the flick as well. There's also a rumor about other stars joining in.
Embodiment of all that is manly Chuck Norris, and the muscles from Brussels Jean-Claude Van Damme are rumored to join the cast.
Well I admit that I never saw the first one, being a girl and all. I can enjoy an awesome blow stuff up movie though so maybe I'll check it out.
Rest assured, plenty of you menfolk are sure to see the movie when it finally comes out. As for any females either being dragged along or willfully joining? All I'm going to say is be prepared for plenty of testosterone in that theater. Whatever small amounts that lie in the females too.
