Unsightly Trash Cans
03-24-2011
Q: I like my neighbors, but they never bring their trash cans in. It makes our street look bad and I don't like my guests to have to see trash cans next to our house when they visit on a non-trash pickup day. What is a polite way to tell them that they need to stop being so lazy and inconsiderate?

A: Is there a polite way to say stop being lazy and inconsiderate? I think not. But you're concern is valid and nothing says ghetto like a bunch of trash cans in the street.

So here's what you do: You wait until you know the neighbors are home. You then nonchalantly grab those pesky cans and bring them up to the house your ownself. Whaaa? That's right.Random act of kindness, my friend. Only be sure you make some noise about it.

I'm thinkin' the neighbors will get the hint pretty quickly and there you are smellin' like a rose on a spring day. Win-win for everyone, am I right? If that doesn't work, trash cans are great target practice at 2 in the am...
